Master the advanced tools and techniques that will put you in complete control of Excel and all of its powerful features.

The Advanced Excel workshop is hands-on training at its most effective and efficient. Learn to use a variety of sophisticated data analysis techniques, build complex macros, use Pivot Tables and Scenario Manager, plus receive a brief introduction to Visual Basic for Applications programming.

Prerequisites:
Assumes intermediate knowledge/experience using Excel as defined by the Intermediate Excel workshop topics.

Topics Include:

  • Consolidating data from several spreadsheets into a summary spreadsheet
  • Financial functions such as Payment and Future Value
  • Lookup tables and Lookup function
  • Using Scenario Manager
  • Assigning names to ranges, applying names to formulas
  • Merging Excel data into Word documents (labels, form letters, etc)
  • Importing/exporting .txt delimited data and Access records
  • Data lists (data validation, advanced filter, and subtotals)
  • One and Two variable data tables
  • Creating Pivot Tables and Charts
  • Complex IF functions including AND, OR, SumIF, CountIF functions
  • Automate your everyday tasks by designing your own custom macros
    • Record, edit, and run macros
    • Relative and absolute reference macros
    • Assign macros to command buttons, toolbar icons, or keystrokes
  • VBA editor to further customize macros using Message Box, Input Box, If-Then Decisions, Loops
  • Creating user defined customized functions
